Military environments demand durability. From arctic temperatures to desert heat, military-grade SSDs must operate flawlessly under extreme conditions. The M+ Rugged SSD is purpose-built for the rigors of these environments, ensuring reliable performance no matter where duty calls.
MEMKOR SSDs are designed with MIL-STD-810F/G requirements in mind, as our mission is to focus on solid state storage solutions capable to operate anywhere in the world and under any circumstances. While we offer commercial versions, we design, select components, build and test (and test, and test) to ensure these are truly Military-grade SSDs with long life, no maintenance, and solid health monitoring capabilities. All Military-grade SSDs are conformally coated, built using special Bill of Material, and undergo the rigorous multi-day production testing spanning across SSD operational functions and specified deployment environment.
All MEMKOR Military-grade SSDs are hardened through design and manufacturing to withstand harsh temperatures, humidity, and altitude. When other SSDs start throttle down performance at high temperatures, MEMKOR SSDs continue to perform. The need to meet different vibration and shock requirements lead to different levels of ruggedization in the design approach. As a result, MEMKOR ORANGE-series and BLUE-series SSDs comply with applications up to 16.3 gRMS vibration profile. The standard SATA connectors are rated for a very low vibration level (6gRMS) and a low number of insertions (~125-200). Addressing both issues at the computer system design level, and with no change to SSD, requires extra engineering time, increases hardware footprint and cost. As an alternative, MEMKOR offers two options.
The HiVibe© connector built using field proven Hyperboloid technology. It eliminates the need for extra effort and extra hardware and provides virtually unlimited number of SSD insertions as well as ruggedizes the SATA plug-receptacle connection to 30gRMS vibration level.
The Smiths Interconnect Nebula connector uses hyperboloid contacts to achieve immunity to shock and vibration fretting. The Nebula connector supports up to 100,000 mating cycles and is rated for operation up to 30g vibration.
Both the HiVibe or Nebula are available as an option on the ORANGE, BLUE, and BLACK series 2.5" SATA SSDs.
