Military and aerospace platforms are generating and retaining more data than ever- from high-resolution video and sensor streams to satellite imagery, mission logs, AI/ML workloads, and onboard analytics.
MEMKOR has been pushing storage density forward for years. We were the first SSD manufacturers to release 1 TB, then 1.2 TB in 2.5”/9.5mm form factor.
Today, that same focus continues across high-capacity SATA, PCIe/NVMe, XMC, VPX, and external storage architectures.
M+ Capacity solutions are engineered to increase usable storage without sacrificing the performance, endurance, security, environmental capability, and lifecycle control required for Defense and Aerospace systems.
Capacity must be balanced against SWaP, write endurance, interface bandwidth, thermal limits, ruggedization, security, and lifecycle requirements—often within a fixed system footprint.
MEMKOR engineers storage architectures to maximize usable capacity without forcing a redesign of the host platform.
CAPACITY | DENSITY | PERFORMANCE | ENDURANCE | SWaP | THERMAL | SECURITY

INCREASE STORAGE WITHOUT INCREASING SYSTEM VOLUME
High-resolution sensors, ISR payloads, mission recording, Edge AI, and onboard analytics continue to drive storage requirements upward.
MEMKOR high-density SSD architectures allow capacity to be increased within existing 2.5", U.2, M.2, XMC, VPX, and external storage envelopes.
Current MEMKOR platforms support high-capacity configurations such as:
*Maximum capacity varies by NAND technology, temperature range, form factor, and configuration.
The real value is not simply fitting more NAND into the enclosure. It is increasing storage density while preserving the environmental, performance, and lifecycle requirements of the qualified system.
MORE TERABYTES CHANGE MORE THAN JUST THE BOM
Increasing capacity affects the entire storage architecture.
THE SMALLEST DRIVE THAT MEETS THE CAPACITY REQUIREMENT ISN'T ALWAYS THE BEST DRIVE FOR THE APPLICATION
CAPTURE MORE. RETAIN IT LONGER.
High-rate data recorders may need to capture multiple sensor streams continuously while preserving large volumes of mission data for later analysis.
For these applications, capacity must be evaluated together with:
Sustained Data Rate | Number of Streams | Retention Time | Write Endurance | WAF | Redundancy
A simple planning relationship is useful:
DATA RATE * RETENTION TIME = BASE STORAGE REQUIREMENT
Then account for redundancy, over-provisioning, filesystem overhead, endurance margin, and expected growth.
MEMKOR can help size the storage around the actual mission workload rather than simply selecting the largest available SSD.
SCALE CAPACITY WITHOUT LOSING CONTROL
Large storage systems may use multiple SSDs in RAID or distributed architectures to increase capacity, performance, or redundancy.
MEMKOR has worked with Broadcom to support interoperability with MegaRAID SafeStore for secure multi-SED deployments, helping simplify security management in systems using multiple encrypted drives.
RAID | Multiple SEDs | TCG Enterprise | Centralized Management | High-Capacity Arrays
DENSITY DOESN'T REMOVE THE ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENT
Commercial high-capacity SSDs are often optimized around data-center or enterprise operating conditions.
MEMKOR high-capacity storage can be configured for industrial-temperature operation, ruggedization, security, locked BOM, and long-term support across deployed Defense and Aerospace environments.
I-Temp | Ruggedization | AES-256-XTS | TCG Opal 2.0 | Locked BOM | Obsolescence Management
